Motivational Interviewing in Healthcare
Health promoting advice doesn't always fall on willing ears, and when it is resisted, consultations addressing health-related behaviour can be frustrating for both health professionals and patients. This one-day course introduces motivational interviewing as a communication skill helpful in such situations.

1st July 9.30am to 4.30pm at Engineers House, Clifton, Bristol

Strengthening Skills for Positive Change
To bring about the transition to a sustainable, flourishing society, we need to access the best of our inspiration, determination, creativity and courage. Drawing on tools described in Chris’s book Find Your Power, this half-day workshop offers a practical training in five learnable skills that help this. We will look at how we activate ourselves, strengthen vision, plan exciting projects, improve relationships and make working for change more enjoyable.

In Lancaster on Saturday July 3rd, 2pm – 5pm. Organised by Transition City Lancaster, for further details

Addiction and the Organisation
Addiction can be viewed as a stuck pattern of behaviour driven by short term attractions, but having longer term consequences that are harmful. As the recent banking crisis has demonstrated, organisations can fall prey to this trap. But is there a prospect for recovery? Will organisations be able to change in time, or will the hunger for short-term profit end up costing the earth?

In London on Saturday July 10th, organized by OPUS (www.opus.org.uk). For further details,
